Earthrise: Yep the Devs Love It Too

This month's Earthrise newsletter has a terrific feature included in which several of the developers write about their favorite parts of or features in the game. It's always nice to hear about developer love. See what strikes a developer's fancy below:

Now that our Valentine's Day sugar highs have subsided, there is still a bit love floating around the office. This month, we have put that love to good use and are sharing with our community everything that we, as the developers, love about Earthrise. Even after a few years of development there are plenty of features that draw us in day after day.

Atanas Atanasov, CEO - I love the epic scale of Earthrise. There is no other game I have seen so far, with such vast environment - huge mountains with chasms and enormous rock formations, human build structures which make you look like a dwarf, endless planes to explore. Another thing I love about Earthrise is the siege mechanics - it is something we can't wait to see going live on our servers.

Apostol Apostolov, Lead Game Designer - The best thing about Earthrise is how customizable and extensive the combat system is. It's all about choices and experimentation - the broad range of exciting, powerful abilities and tactical enhancements that create an endless array of character builds. Almost every day some new combination and unexpected use comes out to totally surprise me and I get to feel firsthand the excitement that a new player would feel as he dives deep into the game. And when combat comes to a victorious end, it is the long walks through the mesmerizing landscape of vast tropical scenes and unreachable mountains that can totally pull me into full immersion.

Ivelin Iliev, Technical Art Director - What I love about Earthrise is the sci-fi setting and the freedom to choose and change your role on the battleground without the need to level a new character.

Momchil Dilov, Lead Writer - I really enjoy the idea behind the most difficult quests in the game. They are made in a way to ensure that only players who know how to play the game and have tactical skills can achieve the goal of the quest. This is the principle of most creature battles with stronger creatures in the most dangerous territories - the danger comes not only from the straightforward strengths of the creature, but also from the way it fights and must be defeated by the players. I hope that we can ensure an interesting PvE gameplay for the players in the late game.

Eduard Matinian, 2D Lead Artist - I love the robots. There`s such diversity in them. It was great fun creating special ones for the both sides (Continoma and Noir). And it's great fun shooting them down :]

While this year it is us sharing our sentiments, next year we look forward to letting you all pitch in with what sets your heart racing about Earthrise! Stick around as we get ready to bring you more visual goodies in the coming month and a deeper look at the history of the island of Enterra.

Nice stuff!
