"The main perpetrator of this monkey lie [evolution] is Charles Darwin. He claims to have developed this 'theory' after studying 'finches' on the Galapagos 'Islands,' but I can guess why he really came up with it. He was on the Galapagos Islands for Spring Break, got smashed, woke up in bed next to a monkey, and then had to come up with a theory that make it all okay." |

If it gets too chilly up north I'll borrow a pair of your panties. You're not using them anyways. HO SNAP he went there. Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

I would say lets hope people come up with good questions, the last time we did one of these on mmorpg.com, they questions blew. |
Apprentice Posts: 1053 Joined: 5 Jul 2007 | I think we should start a discussion on some aspect of the game that will lead us to think up some good ones. I saw that other interview and it was like the people just barely heard about Warhammer. We didn't get any good information! At the time of the interview we might have a new newsletter with lots of confusing new info in it to ask about. But I'll list some questions of mine that come to mind. 1. What are they going to put in the collectors edition and how soon can I preorder it? 2. It seems like a lot of class pictures aren't being shown. Many pictures of The Chaos/Empire, Delf/Helf classes are still just concept art. Can we expect to see some in-game models soon! What about environment, again lots of concept art, very few in-game models. Or are they just showing concept art to make first starting the game more magical? 3. I've heard rumors of the game being delayed until Q3 confirm/deny? (In the off chance we get and answer and it's confirm. Don't forget to threaten their lives) 4. Will the game have 64bit support? What about SLI support? With those two things people runnign them should see performance increases. I know that WoW supports both the SLI and 64bit, as well as many of the warhammer RTS's support SLI. I'd like to know what their plans for WAR is. Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

Apprentice Posts: 480 Joined: 1 Oct 2007 | How many beta testers get remitted each phase? How many are added on each phase? Any date on when "open beta" might be? Rumors abound of support classes' DPS being akin to kittens with boxing gloves, that they are all basically buffers and healers with very little bite. Is this the case? If yes, is that intended?

Also: Dont forget to ask them if they liked my story Sarande! They can have my autograph if they want but it'll cost them a beta key or two =p Also: Also: I'll add on any more question that I have into my questions post to consolidate them. Unlike other chats, we actually know the games we hold chats for. We have a record of having very good chats. |

Apprentice Posts: 2 Joined: 30 Jan 2008 | Im going to try to make it, but I am not completely sure. If someone would want to ask this question it would be great: There has not been much information released yet regarding the Black Guard, but it has been said that their damage will increase the more damage is dealt to them, whereas classes like the Ironbreaker will gain grudge as their teammates take damage. Is this the only system in place for Black Guard to gain Hatred? And if so, what is stopping players from ignoring them, thus removing their main combat system as a threat? |
Apprentice Posts: 480 Joined: 1 Oct 2007 | Excellent question, though you are mistaken about the Ironbreaker.
To sort-of answer the question for the Chosen, though, I think that's where taunts come in. IIRC, taunts will nerf DPS of the taunted character by around 50% when they attack anyone but you for a certain amount of time. Edit: just re-read the Chosen description on warhammeronline.com and I see nothing matching the mechanic you stated.

Apprentice Posts: 1053 Joined: 5 Jul 2007 | Well to be honest there really isn't that much info on any of the classes. We have the general idea of how they'll play and such, but as for mechanics that's for release day and beta testers unfortunately T_T. I love theorycrafting as much as the next person, but sometimes we just have to wait for it. But yea! Ask away in the chat! I wonder if we can get a decent answer =p Also: To try and answer your question, it sounds like getting hurt is the only system for gaining hatred that the Black Gaurd have, seeing as how their purpose is to be struck it's important to take that into account when fighting them. I might seem a little strange but at the same time there is also collision detection and taunts that will make people who want to ignore the Black gaurd and concentrate on someone else to avoid powering the BG up, HAVE to concentrate on the BG or everything they do will be pointless. Each class has strengths and weaknesses. That's whats gonna be fun about this. You're not going to be able to do every battle with a certain archetype the same way. Unlike other mmos where everyones the same there will be plenty of changing and knowledge required to take advantage over another group/person. Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!
