Realm vs. Realm Preview Video

At EA Mythic's press event, we were lucky enough to score some press preview footage of the game in action. The first video, a preview of Realm vs. Realm combat, below.

too many orcs dying... this must be fake..

Well, it looks like Orcs are not particularly finished yet. It seems like they only had one set of gear and a standard attack that all of them were doing, so they probably aren't balanced with the (seemingly) more finished Dwarves.

RvR looks fast paced and fun though, so I am excited to see this vid!

I agree (it does look exciting).. I just hope that the orcs are not portrayed as Green Retards... "orc smash"

Well, unfortunately, the Orcs of Warhammer are pretty simple minded and pretty much just like to kill things. That's not to say that there's no depth to the Orcs, but, yeah. "Orc smash" is a pretty good sum-up of it.

Although there's really nothing to prevent people from playing more intelligent Orcs. Your decisions are your own.

Oh, and check out the newsletter for a video that shows some (seemingly) more up to date PvP, it seems like this video only shows a couple of classes in largely incomplete forms, but the newsletter vid shows em all off with tons of skills and it looks far more balanced.

Aren't the Goblins supposed to be the more intelligent of the two? If I remember correctly don't they team up with the Orcs and are both identified as the "Greenskins"?

I'd have to say the video has way too many orcs with axes and too few decapitated hairy midgets. Looks exciting though!

Goblins are still stupid, but they are more cunning and clever- the only way to survive as a midget in a society where being small means being eaten. And yes, Orcs and Goblins are basically one "race", Goblins are just Greenskins whose development was stunted, and Orcs are Greenskins who grew up big and strong.

And concerning this vid, it seems to be from an earlier build than a lot of the videos we have seen lately. As you can see Orc classes and gear are pretty much non-differentiated (looks like all Choppas and Shamans, and they all have the same moves with the same gear on) compared to the Dwarves, who seem to be overall more developed. Since this vid, we have seen a lot of new ones come out where there appeared to be far more variety for the Greenies and balance in general.
