Apprentice Posts: 7 Joined: 21 Nov 2007 | My question is: They push the relese date back, but is this implying to the Beta release, or the full release? I have my pre-order in, and my beta key codes. I just want to know if the beta is the one being pushed back till fall. |
Apprentice Posts: 2315 Joined: 13 May 2005 | fall is comunicated as the going life time of WAR itself. the beta doesnt seem to have been moved back considerable. rumours i read so far speak of a beta start for people that bought the "pre collectors edition thing" around the end of may (at least for europe). I would go crazy with joy if they actually give us that much beta time.

Can't say 100% for sure, but thats the info given to him from his higher ups. Seems a lot of pre-orderers in my area have been asking the same question. |

They haven't mentioned any dates for when the open beta would start, although I'd suspect some time around August at the latest.

Apprentice Posts: 2315 Joined: 13 May 2005 | there are several rumours for the european "open beta" start date around. a french website even made a theoretical time table, based on the comments by Mythic and the usual release time table of mmorpg releases. if i remember correctly they came to a guild beta start date of June and an open beta start of around end of July or start of August. Apprentice Posts: 480 Joined: 1 Oct 2007 | Anyone else pre-order through Best Buy? I had a gift card for there (otherwise I would've avoided it) so I pre-ordered online. But I haven't gotten any codes, and after contacting customer support it is clear to me that they have no idea what the heck a beta is. Several times I've been told that the codes would be shipped with the game, and each time I've pointed out that that would make beta access 100% useless. Still they have not changed their policy. Worst of all, I've noticed that on their website they've taken down all rhetoric about open beta access. Anyone else know anything about this? I know GameStop customers have already gotten their codes...

He claims to have developed this 'theory' after studying 'finches' on the Galapagos 'Islands,' but I can guess why he really came up with it. He was on the Galapagos Islands for Spring Break, got smashed, woke up in bed next to a monkey, and then had to come up with a theory that make it all okay." |

You could try what me and my brother did. We pre-ordered our copies at a GameStop in our local mall, but they didn't have any of the slips, so we just went upstairs to the other GameStop and told them we pre-ordered at the other store but they didn't have any slips and they just handed them to us. :P If that doesn't work, I'd say get a refund from Best Buy and pre-order elsewhere.

No matter how long a release date is pushed back(within reason, cough*Darkfall*cough)the players will come, if the game itself is good. I hope they take thier sweet-ass time with it. If it fails, we have nothing on the horizon my friends. |

Electronic Arts has announced that PC MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning won't be released until the autumn.
News of the delay was revealed this morning by producer Jeff Hickman. He was speaking at a press conference in Paris attended by the editor of Eurogamer's brand new MMO channel.
It's not the first time the game's release date has been pushed back. Warhammer Online was originally due out in Q1 of this year, but that was shifted to Q2. At the time, EA Mythic boss Mark Jacobs said the delay would allow the studio to "invest additional time and effort in implementation and polish to make WAR great".
It seems even more investment is required, as Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is now due for a "fall" release.
Expect a full report on how it's shaping up soon.
