Sword Master & Witch Elf Preview Video

A new video showing the Blade Master and Witch Elf has been posted by JeuxVideo.tv. In the six minute video you see the two classes going through some of their stances and combat animations.

Some of the animations were really excellent, but a few of them were really lacking. I hope they're just placeholders. Most notably Agile Escape, I imagined it more of a doing a back flip (perhaps even kicking off the opponent) in order to get the distance; a blue light and sudden flight backwards seems... odd.

For the most part that video rocks though. It's nice to see them in action, and the environs are looking great.

"The main perpetrator of this monkey lie [evolution] is Charles Darwin. He claims to have developed this 'theory' after studying 'finches' on the Galapagos 'Islands,' but I can guess why he really came up with it. He was on the Galapagos Islands for Spring Break, got smashed, woke up in bed next to a monkey, and then had to come up with a theory that make it all okay."

Actually, this isn't really a new video -- it's from GC 2007 originally posted in August 2007:

I figured that might be the case.

Thanks Krow for helping out! Not all of us are ready to abandon ship just yet. ;p They need to get a move on though and get more info out to us. More vidjas and such. After watching it I thought it looked pretty good myself. Made me go "Yea I'd play that." =p

Also: I have some bad news. I think I might end up rolling a Black Orc. Their Lore is just too fun. Also: They're awesome. Period. "Let 'em tell da King. Da east belongs to da Orcs. Da east belongs to Morglum. Da east is green."

Even though I <3 Tchar'zanek I think I might have to part ways =p

Even though it's still in beta, and this video is somewhat old, and it's a tiny, rather poor quality video, the game looks excellent.

Any animation is better than 1 special attack animation and maybe 2 or 3 (if you're lucky) normal attacks, like WoW and many other MMOs have. I agree with you there on the Agile Escape though, hopefully they do an animation similar to the dodge animation Hunters had in DAoC, an awesome backflip, hehe.

The agile escape was the only thing that made me go. "That seemed unnecessary" I agree.

Yea, right now it looks like more of a knockback attack by the test dummy then an intentional maneuver by the Witch Elf.

Funny, the agile escape was the only part that made me think "Hmm, thats awesome"... But maybe I'm looking at it from a gameplay point of view and not the unfinished animations.

Yea, I was talking about the animation perspective, not from a game play point of view. It's great for game play, but I just think they could have jazzed up the animation a little.

And they likely will. Doesn't seem convincingly "agile."
