No "Blood Priests" says Josh

Associate Producder, Josh Drescher, gave out a freebie today on his blog update.

Everyone's hard at work putting the final touches on the new and improved WAR Beta. With the end in sight, excitement is running very high here at EA Mythic HQ. Thanks to all the patient testers who stayed active in discussions during the downtime. Your feedback has been a critical part of this latest round of changes and improvements.

I'll see you on the battlefield shortly.

A final freebie:

There are no "Blood Priests" in WAR.

Well, Druchii is just the elven name for the Dark Elves. As for Blood Priests, they aren't even in the Fantasy codex, atleast not in mine and I have the newest one. There are Blood Priests in 40k, but they are Space Marines. The concept comes from one of the GW approved novels, but isn't an offical army list character.

Khorne really doesn't have much to do with the Dark Elves, only real tenuious connection would be when Aenarion weilded the Sword of Khaine, that he used to defeat the Chaos Hordes the first time, which is supposed to be a manifastion of murder and violence. The sword changed him and ended up losing his wife and kids and ended up marrying Morathi, who happen to be High Priestess of the Cult of Pleasure, and bore Malekith. Other then that everything seems to revolve around the Cult of Pleasure, followers of Slannesh, which seems to be the underlying cause of the permanent split.

But yes, Khorne chooses not to have anything to do with magic, he find spellcasting cowardly and would rather see his follower tear people apart hand-to-hand.

I wish they had Champions of Khorne as a class. Perhaps in an expansion, but I understand their decision to omit them.

"The main perpetrator of this monkey lie [evolution] is Charles Darwin. He claims to have developed this 'theory' after studying 'finches' on the Galapagos 'Islands,' but I can guess why he really came up with it. He was on the Galapagos Islands for Spring Break, got smashed, woke up in bed next to a monkey, and then had to come up with a theory that make it all okay."

Khorne and Slaanesh seem to be decidedly M-rated if they were implemented as playable, and I don't think playing a walking skinbag of disease and filth has much appeal to players other than those who already play Nurgle on the tabletop. Tzeentch seemed to be a rather obvious choice imho.

The December newsletter isn't coming fast enough, I want to see the DE support class!
