The post is completely appropriate -- the main things we avoid are spam, marketing/advertising, gold selling/powerleveling services, and porn. Most everything else is fair game. I'm going to probably play a Choppa, Black Orc, or Goblin Squig Herder. I haven't really put a ton of thought into it. The good guys will, of course, be the draw for younger, immature players. Who can resist elves and dwarves when you're a pint sized do-gooder?

Killed 10 Boars Posts: 16 Joined: 10 Sep 2007 | I'm looking forward to Darkelf. I'd love to be a Black Guard or one of the two classes that haven't been announced yet. If the 2 new classes for Darkelves don't pan out, I would like to try my hand at Chaos' Marauder or a Zealot. And I agree with Moon; elves, dwarves, and humans will attract some yonger people and will probably be swordmasters/ironbreaker tank types. Though there will be many experienced players who will fight for the good also. |

Master Looter Posts: 2316 Joined: 13 May 2005 | i think i am a natural orc player, i like their Warhammer style the most so they are my first pick. but Mythic formed some very interesting classes out of the lore for humans and made even elfes interesting. so if the chaos side would really be much stronger on my server, i wouldnt mind rolling one of these (cause i like playing the underdog and it would fit the lore too). for classes i havent decided yet, but will probably go for a tank or for a ranged one. oh and if GOA runs general european servers, i am looking forward to killing you (or with you) ;) Lineage2: prepare to grind - like you've never grinded before |

The Destructionside will most likely be the populated side on each server according to polls and posts on warhammer fan-sites. I must say I totally agree with you about being the underdog Gurag. Like Hibs in DAoC, if anyone played it? The underdog-role makes you and your guild more exkcusive. I mean the dreamscenario would be if me and my chaps played Order and we would be able to kill 2 groups of Destruction, that's how you earn a name. While on the Destructionside the risk is higher that you'll become just a "Destructionguild" because of the high population on the darkside. I'm really not sure what side to pick yet so I cant decide what I want to be, though it's leaning towards a darkelf or empire/dwarf. According to polls and such the most popular class amongst the young people will be Witchhunter. I look forward killing you, or killing with you aswell mate :) |

Master Looter Posts: 1054 Joined: 5 Jul 2007 | Greetings from across the pond Forzy! I'm a relative newcomer here as well. I can definitely say thanks for sticking around. Until I had been here for a little bit I never realized that many times people will just make an account to try to get a question asked in a bi-monthly interview and never be heard from again. So it's good to see someone wanting to stick around. One cool thing about this site is in the off-topic theres a thread http://war.warcry.com/forums/read/142.33354 that will make you a high-quality free sig! I made my crappy one, one day so I never used them but they're work is pretty good looking. For me it is too challenging to pick one class. I think my main will be a Chaos Marauder followed by a Black Orc. Then I'll probably move into dwarves and try out the empire. Probably the only elf class I'll try out will be the Black Gaurd so I can get a feel of the elves. But no promises I'm going to be very busy when the game comes out =p As for the n00b class I couldn't say. I'd put some money on Chaos Chosen, simply because the front of Warhammer and many of the most stunning images they put in magazines/websites always include a huge bulky bad-ass looking Chosen. Though the difficulty of playing a tank might over-whelm the stupid people and they move into something more DPS oriented. However, I don't think that was the case with WoW. Though Nelf hunters/rogues may have just been chosen because people want to play a "pretty" race. Did WoW players know Nelfs hunters/rogues and undead rogues would be the dime a dozen n00b class before the game came out? Or was it only after time that they earned their reputation? I didn't start till a year or so after it came out so I can't say =p Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

I can't disagree with this point more! The WH looks amazing! Yes he has some ranged weapons but the look of them make them look like they're from the middle-ages! They're big, bulky, and square-eque! Not all sleek and stainless looking like modern guns. I just think they fit the time period perfectly. I mean, we do have cannons and Dwarven engineers. I'm sure they can handle a pistol ;p Here some piccies of them: http://war.warcry.com/images/view/21068 I love the barrels of the gun because they look like real muzzle-loaders and old fashioned pistols. They're so bulky their boarding on being called hand-cannons imho. At least single-hand cannons. =p All that being said I still don't plan on playing one. XD (At least until I've done all the others first) Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

WarCry Choice Posts: 6968 Joined: 31 Aug 2003 | If they can build giant doomcannons like the one in the background of the last picture, I think they can handle making some hand-held firearms. Anyways, the guns aren't even the Witch Hunters main weapons, he'll be using his rapiers/swords for the most part, seeing as how he's the Melee DPS of the Empire and all. Witch Hunters will probably be one of the more popular classes on release, along with Witch Elves, and whatever other Elf classes are scantily clad, but I don't think there will be much of a population imbalance between the factions. Mythic is doing a good job of making every class extremely cool and unique and they all look fun as hell to play..except for those sissy High Elves.

Killed 10 Boars Posts: 18 Joined: 13 Sep 2007 | Well, your argument is good but I still don't think the guns and rifles fits gamewise, neither the grenades the engineers have etc. But the guns are pretty cool and after seeing some RvR movies I can say they add some cool gfx to the game, will be entertaining to fight them/with them. In any case I do not have any other idea what to replace the guns with and it would certainly not affect anyone, so better not write anything stupid :) Yeah, it's very challening to pick a class, i've been sitting for hours and trying to find out which class fits me. In DAoC I played a mercenary and wizard as mainchars, really liked them equally much. The marauder seems a fun class to play, but I don't think I'm going to play destruction as I want to be the underdog. Hopefully I will be accepted into the beta and try out all the different classes there are. Thanks for the sig-maker Cicadymn, really appreciate it. Since I work with Photoshop on a daily basis I don't think it'll be hard for me to do my own, a lot more fun if you put some own effort into it. And thanks for the encouraging words btw. |

High elves doesnt look cool at all I agree, though I'm temped to play one myself. Hopefully they will make them more cool soon. |
WarCry Choice Posts: 350 Joined: 12 Nov 2002 | For me it will mostly be a Dark Elf, still waiting to see what the last two classes are. But I know i'll have an Orc as well.

The swordmaster wowed me for a moment but then I payed more attention to him and stopped caring. Dresses == too sissy for me. Giant mutated arm == better. That's cool about photoshop as well, seems like more and more people are getting really good at using image editors! Here I am just struggling to get the basic concepts of MS paint XD. You know we were kinda thinking about trying to find an artist to do a WAR comic. Maybe we should jab you with pointy sticks until we get some out of you? ;D Just thought I'd throw it out there for you (and any other new people browsing though). It'd definitely come in handy if you get bored with your design or don't feel like making one =p I'm contemplating having them make me a new one but I can't decide on what I want it to be yet. Apprentice Posts: 5 Joined: 15 Sep 2007 | Well this will be my first post here but I think while it might be a the noob magnet race Im looking forward to it anyways. I think I am aiming for the DE Blackguard and this is mainly because I was a change of pace in class role types. I've always been into the DPS classes like mages and rogues. I've sort of come more into a interest in support classes, and I am really interested in the warrior priest that the Empire has although they don't seem to have that awe factor that the DE's do. I would mind being a Chaos Zealot either just because they so remind me of warlocks... |
Master Looter Posts: 1054 Joined: 5 Jul 2007 | Welcome Talzy! There is one thing you can be sure of in this game is that there will be no warlocks fear-locking you for 20 seconds or rogues stunlocking from full health to none. The game will acctually require players to play TOGETHER. Not run out into the middle of the field and try to lock one guy and kill them before they can fight back. If you want to live, you better get behind that black gaurd or pay attention if your the tank because everyones position will be valuable. Though I suppose Zealot will be closest to a warlock, I have a feeling they'll play completely different. Emancipating heads from necks since 1987!

We have DoTs and...well, I guess that's as much as we have in common with WoW Warlocks. :P No fearing, no sheeping, no chainable CC of any kind in WAR (THANK THE GODS!). The only CC will be small-scale/single-target roots/snares/stuns, and possibly very limited group CC, but no 1 minute mezz that can hit 40 people. I imagine if the DE Ranged DPS class is a spellcaster, he'll be kinda similar to a Warlock.

WarCry Choice Posts: 9169 Joined: 4 Aug 2004 | i hope stuns arent chainable like early lineage 2 dwarves/human knights were....if a human knight got you cornered and landed the first shield stun, you were done. *stun for 5 seconds* hit hit *try stun* hit hit *stun for 5 seconds* hit hit *stun for 5 seconds* hit hit *try stun* hit hit *stun for 5 seconds*

Apprentice Posts: 5 Joined: 15 Sep 2007 | Yea, I figured that much with the game. I am sort of glad they didn't add tons of CC classes/moves. It made for a really aggravating experience when folks were trying to put together a group. I mainly want to be a black guard for the good offense/defense. I hope they actually hit as hard as they claim they do. |
WarCry Choice Posts: 6968 Joined: 31 Aug 2003 | I'm pretty sure I've heard them say that stuns and snares and roots and the like will be subject to diminishing returns, DAoC had downright immunity for a minute after the first one, but there was so much damn CC in that game, I don't think it would carry over well to WAR.

Seriously, it looks like a box of angry Nerds exploded. Don't see the appeal in this class. And it looks like I might have to change my vote, way to many headed destruction side, so I may have to go to other side. I like the challenge and generally, where the majority of the population goes, a majority of the noobs generally follow. (Edit: I was speaking of squig herders in case the quote concerning both squig herders and Black Orcs confused anyone) |

Considering that the Empire have one of the most badass siege weapons in the tabletop game, the Hellblaster Volley Gun, I'd say that the pistols and rifles work perfectly. The Empire are kind of like early Renaissance Europe, but with magic and other cool stuff. I know it seems strange at first, but it works. Oh, and I'll be probably playing two characters - High Elf Archmage, and Dark Elf Blackguard. What can I say? I like elves.

Killed 10 Boars Posts: 11 Joined: 13 Sep 2007 | Empire's Knights of the Blazing Sun, Dark Elves' Witch Elf, Chaos Marauder, and Goblin Shaman all come to mind first. But who knows, I really do enjoy tanking. It's a different game entirely when you tank, and if you're good at it it's easy to make friends =D P.S. Chi, your Falcon Punch portrait is simply amazing. Do you know if that's staged or real? He turns so fast and comes at the guy in the can with conviction, but he doesn't exactly follow through with the punch. Ah well, perhaps knowing would take away from the majesty either way.

Hi guys!
Might aswell introduce myself to this forum since it seems fairly small (The WAR forum) and dedicated.
My name is Mippe and I come from Sweden, have been a warhammerfan for a long time now, also played DAoC for 4 years and I'm really looking forward to the RvR in WAR.
Heard of warcry on another website and checked it out, and man am I not dissappointed at all, you guys are well informed about the game and share some pretty darn good information too.
The Beta has been going on for a while, and now almost everything is revealed about WAR. I would just like to know what race/class (Classes did not fit in the poll) that attracts you the most and which you're tempted to play once the game release?
Another thing to discuss is which side/race/class will be the most popular amongst the immature, young player? (i.e The nightelf rouge on WoW). Discuss!
By the way admins of this forum; Is this post appropriate? I could not find any rules for what you can post and not post. And again, big thanks to Warcry for these forums and all the information, thumbs up!
